During Monday Night Football against the Cincinnati Bengals, the Jacksonville Jaguars’ quarterback suffered an injury after being stepped on by one of his own offensive linemen. Trevor Lawrence was visibly in pain during the 4th quarter and had to leave the field with an apparent serious injury. Medical experts believe that he may have suffered a right ankle fracture or a severe sprain, and he will undergo an MRI to determine the full extent of the injury.
The Jaguars have designated him as “questionable to return”, and CJ Beathard will lead the team in his absence. The lineman who accidentally stepped on Lawrence, Walker Little, also sustained a hamstring injury and is “questionable to return”. The initial diagnosis for Lawrence is an ankle sprain, which is a positive sign that he may be able to return to the field this season.
