With the current trend in the performance of Manchester united and Chelsea FC ,It is most likely they may not make the top 4 in the 2023/2024 premier league season .The serial failure displayed by the two clubs may make one think there is a curse working negatively against them having previously been glorious 15 years back.
Manchester united are almost out of the group stage in the UEFA champions league having been on the last position after 5 matches. You all would agree with me that no one saw this coming after having good players in the team that every one hope that they would at least make it to the round of 16 in the prestigious completion .Coming to the premier league they have strugled securing 27 point after 16 games .Analytical ,we can say Manchester united secured an average of 1.5 goal per match which is very poor.
Chelsea on the other hand have been struggling since the change of ownership from Roman Abramovich to Todd Boehly.The club have been going down like someone in a quicksand but my take here might be funny but is a reality.
The Chelsea players are not showing tenacity like what we had in previous years with the likes of John Terry,Lampard ,Drogba,Ivanovich, Remires,Kante,Essien etc with a discipline look ,If you see them,you already scared before the game begins and they give you result .You see high level of discipline, low hair cut ,passion,strength,and a driving and fighting spirit.No wonder they got their first champions league in 2012 with a great tenacity to succeed despite the odds against them but now ,what I see is celebration of dread luck and physical look which is not the primary aim of a player with little or no passion having spent the highest in clubs in Europe so far.Maybe the cost of purchasing those players may have put pressure on them but players players like C.Ronaldo never was intimidated with pressure .He delivers and that what makes you a big player: The ability to bring result at the right time.
There is need for a rush hour to save the Glory of this two English great club.
