
The Grant Thornton Invitational’s second round commences on Saturday at Tiburón Golf Club, marking the first mixed-team co-sanctioned event between the LPGA and PGA TOUR since John Daly and Laura Davies emerged victorious in the final JCPenney Classic in 1999. The tournament boasts a unique format featuring 16 teams, including global TOUR stars such as Ludvig Åberg, Justin Rose, Rickie Fowler, and Jason Day, as well as some of the LPGA’s top players, including 2023 Player of the Year Lilia Vu, four-time 2023 winner Celine Boutier, and rookie sensation Rose Zhang. It is expected to be an exceptional week of golf.
In the first round, Team Nelly Korda-Tony Finau took the lead at Tiburón Golf Club, scoring a remarkable 16-under 56. Teams Leona Maguire-Lucas Glover and Megan Khang-Denny McCarthy follow closely behind, trailing by only one at 15 under.
