With a 6-under 66 in Foursomes on Saturday, Lydia Ko and Jason Day lead the mixed-team Grant Thornton Invitational at Tiburón Golf Club by two strokes going into Sunday’s final round. Nelly Korda-Tony Finau and Leona Maguire-Lucas Glover are in second and third place, respectively. The final round will feature a Modified Four-ball format, where both players will tee off and then switch balls for their second shots.
Four teams are four shots back, including Rickie Fowler and Lexi Thompson, who had a hole-in-one on 16. Despite meeting just this week, Day and Ko have formed a strong partnership, with Ko impressed by Day’s distance and clutch putting. The leaders will have to go low on Sunday to claim the inaugural Grant Thornton Invitational trophy.
