With his win at the BetVictor Shoot Out, Mark Allen has secured his spot at next month’s World Grand Prix, having jumped 19 places up the one-year ranking list to 11th. His victory over Cao Yupeng in the final in Swansea earned him a £50,000 prize. To qualify for the World Grand Prix, players must be in the top 32 on the list at the end of this week’s BetVictor Scottish Open. Cao moved from 58th to 26th with his runner-up finish, which may be enough to earn him a place in Leicester. Luca Brecel is currently 38th and needs at least two wins in Edinburgh to have a chance of climbing into the top 32. The draw for the World Grand Prix will be confirmed at the end of the BetVictor Scottish Open.
