Liverpool is currently in discussions with RB Leipzig to bring Fabio Carvalho back from his season-long loan. Despite joining the German club on a temporary deal in June, the 21-year-old has only played over 250 minutes of football. The Reds are eager to end the loan early as it is not serving its purpose in terms of Carvalho’s development. Out of his 11 appearances, only two have been starts, which is not what the former Fulham starlet had hoped for after pushing for a move to the Bundesliga over the summer.
Although Carvalho was informed early on that he would not be part of Jurgen Klopp’s plans for this season, he preferred not to remain in the Premier League despite a host of options.

RB Leipzig initially pushed for a permanent deal but ultimately agreed to a season-long loan. However, the deal has not worked out for either club or player in the ensuing months. Klopp insisted that Carvalho was training impressively, but he only made eight starts and 13 appearances overall in his maiden campaign at Anfield. The player himself admitted that he had requested a move away in the summer.
