Novak Djokovic is already looking ahead to next season, with his sights set on winning the Australian Open and increasing his lead over Rafael Nadal in the Grand Slam race. In a recent interview with CBS 60 Minutes, the world number one also addressed his decision not to get vaccinated against COVID-19, clarifying that he supports freedom of choice and is not anti-vaccine. As a result of his stance, Djokovic missed several tournaments, including the Australian Open, Indian Wells, Miami, Canada, Cincinnati, and the US Open in 2022, as well as Indian Wells and Miami in 2023.
Djokovic also spoke about his rivalry with Nadal and Federer, acknowledging his enormous respect for them but noting that they are not friends due to their competitive nature. He expressed a desire to have dinner with them in the future.
Following a brief break after the Davis Cup finals in Malaga, Djokovic will spend his pre-season in Dubai with fellow Serbian Hamad Medjedovic, who recently won the Next Gen Finals in Jeddah.
