During Week 14 of the 2023 NFL season, the Kansas City Chiefs suffered a loss to the Buffalo Bills, prompting quarterback Patrick Mahomes to have a sideline outburst against officials in the fourth quarter. However, Chiefs offensive coordinator Matt Nagy defended Mahomes, stating that the QB does not show frustration towards his wide receivers in public, but does so in private. Nagy praised Mahomes’ ability to lead without having to display his emotions constantly on game day. Despite leading the NFL in dropped passes and an 8-5 record, Mahomes’ leadership has earned him two Super Bowl MVP awards and numerous other accolades. Mahomes later apologized for his outburst and acknowledged that it was not a good example for children. Despite the setback, the Chiefs remain a strong contender.
