In Sunday night’s game, Lamar Jackson led the Baltimore Ravens to a 23-7 victory over the Jacksonville Jaguars and secured a spot in the postseason. Jackson threw a touchdown pass and made a remarkable play when he avoided a sack and found Isaiah Likely near the goal line. The Ravens have now won four consecutive games and are one step closer to securing the No. 1 seed and home-field advantage throughout the AFC playoffs.
The Jaguars lost their third straight game, all against AFC North teams, and are now tied with Houston and Indianapolis atop the AFC South. Self-inflicted mistakes were a common theme in Jacksonville’s losing streak, including Trevor Lawrence’s two fumbles in the game.
The Ravens suffered some injuries, including promising rookie running back Keaton Mitchell, who injured his left knee early in the fourth quarter and was ruled out. Starting left tackle Ronnie Staley and free safety Marcus Williams also left the game due to injury.
Despite the injuries, the Ravens’ elite defense and offensive players, such as Edwards and Likely, did enough to overcome the challenges and secure the win. Ravens defensive tackle Justin Madubuike also tied an NFL record by recording at least a half-sack in 11 consecutive games.
The Jaguars had four scoring opportunities in the first half but failed to capitalize on any of them, managing only 181 yards in the opening half. Brandon McManus missed two field goals from beyond 50 yards, and Lawrence’s two fumbles also hurt the team’s chances.
In the end, the Ravens prevailed with their solid performance, while the Jaguars’ mistakes proved costly.
