The BetVictor Scottish Open held in Edinburgh had a remarkable increase in viewership on UK Eurosport, with a 64% rise in average audience compared to the previous year. Gary Wilson won the tournament for the second time in a row by defeating Noppon Saengkham 9-5 in the final, with a peak audience of 28% more than last year. The event was also available on DMAX, where the average audience was up by 19% compared to the previous year’s figures on QUEST. The overall cumulative audience on UK Eurosport and DMAX increased by 76% from the previous year. The tournament also had a significant digital presence, with over 16 million people reached through WST’s digital platforms, including a 70% increase in reach on their Facebook page. Despite John Higgins’ exit at the semi-final stage, there was an increase in live audience at the Meadowbank Centre on the final day, with 1,000 fans in attendance. WST’s Chief Marketing and Communications Officer, Tom Rowell, expressed his excitement for the growing popularity of snooker and the upcoming MrQ Masters from January 7-14, which will have extensive live coverage on various broadcasters worldwide.
