Instead of taking a 14-3 lead before halftime, the Cowboys found themselves trailing at home in the second half for the first time this season. Despite only rushing for 61 yards, Prescott threw for 345 yards and two touchdowns on 26-for-38 completions, with Brandin Cooks on the receiving end of his second TD.
Jared Goff threw two interceptions against the Cowboys, including one prior to a potential game-winning drive. Goff completed 19 of 34 passes for 271 yards, one touchdown, and the pair of interceptions, with Amon-Ra St. Brown catching his lone TD pass and finishing with 90 receiving yards. Lions tight end Sam LaPorta caught seven passes for 84 yards, while Goff utilized five other weapons to split the remaining yardage.
The Cowboys, who honored Jimmy Johnson at halftime, will visit the Washington Commanders next Sunday in their final game of the season, while the Lions will host the Minnesota Vikings.
