Bill Belichick, coach of the New England Patriots, is on the verge of tying a record that he never expected to come close to. The Patriots have had a difficult season and rumors have circulated about Belichick’s job security. In their upcoming game against the New York Jets, a loss would tie Belichick with the record for most losses in the NFL, currently held by Jeff Fisher and Dan Reeves at 165 losses. Despite being in charge for 23 years, Belichick had never experienced a 13-loss season with the Patriots before this year. The current list for losses includes Tom Landry, Don Shula, and Jeff Fisher. If playoff losses are included, Belichick is just one loss away from tying the all-time record held by Tom Landry. While Belichick remains committed to coaching his team, another defeat may be out of his hands.
