After sustaining a hamstring injury during the impressive 4-2 win over Newcastle on New Year’s Day, the Hungarian midfielder was forced off after 63 minutes. The manager confirmed that he will miss at least two games, with uncertainty regarding fixtures beyond that, as the team already has six injured players. Additionally, Wataru Endo and Mohamed Salah will miss up to eight games due to the Asian Cup and AFCON respectively. Left-backs Andy Robertson and Kostas Tsimikas are still out with shoulder injuries, but Robertson is expected to make his return next month. Joel Matip suffered an ACL injury against Fulham last month, and his contract will expire this summer, possibly marking his last game for the club. Spanish midfielders Thiago and Stefan Bajcetic have had a frustrating season with their fitness, with Thiago not featuring since April and Bajcetic playing just 72 minutes so far this season. Teenager Ben Doak requires surgery after picking up a knee injury in December. The Reds are currently missing a total of eight players.
