Peterborough United’s Ronnie Edwards has attracted interest from Crystal Palace and Aston Villa in recent days, with both clubs vying for the defender’s signature. However, while Palace are particularly advanced with their interest, they are still some way out from Peterborough’s £10million valuation of Edwards. TalkSPORT journalist Alex Crook has suggested that Palace are currently the frontrunners for the 20-year-old, but he is apparently wanted by half a dozen Premier League clubs this month. Despite this, it is unlikely that any club will be able to secure a deal for Edwards in the January transfer window. Edwards is a classy centre-back who has already made over 110 appearances for the League One club and was a key member of the England Under-19 side that won the European Championships in 2022.
