The NFL world has been left stunned by the Green Bay Packers’ recent success. Despite starting the season 3-6 and being overlooked by most playoff-caliber teams, the Packers have managed to make their way into the final eight remaining teams in the league. Their four consecutive wins have not only secured them a spot in the playoffs, but also in the divisional round.
However, the Packers are facing a tough challenge ahead as they prepare to face the San Francisco 49ers in California. Unfortunately, one former Packers coach will be watching the game from the sidelines, unsure of where his NFL career will take him next.
The coach in question stated in a text message, “On to the next one. Proud of my time there.” According to sources, the team and Van Pelt had discussed a possible reassignment of roles on the coaching staff, but ultimately decided to part ways. As for the Browns, they have recently fired running backs coach Stump Mitchell and decided not to renew the contract of tight ends coach T.C. McCartney in a staff shakeup. Kevin Stefanski remains Cleveland’s primary playcaller, while Van Pelt held the title of offensive coordinator since 2020, after serving as quarterbacks coach for the Cincinnati Bengals and Green Bay Packers.
