Georgiy Sudakov, the Ukrainian international and star player of Shakhtar Donetsk, has attracted the attention of top European clubs, including Liverpool, Manchester City, Barcelona, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and Napoli, according to Calciomercato. The Reds, along with other interested parties, have reportedly been in touch with Sudakov’s representatives to discuss a possible transfer. Shakhtar has set a €40million (£34million) price tag on the 21-year-old midfielder. Sudakov, who has already scored against Barcelona in this season’s Champions League, has made 18 appearances for Donetsk and was previously linked to Arsenal.
In March 2022, Fernando Valente, Sudakov’s former coach, shared on social media – according to AS – that Sudakov had sent him a photo of them stuck in a bunker, which still brings tears to his eyes.
In addition to this, Sudakov also experienced appendicitis earlier this year, causing him to miss the first four games of the season. Despite these setbacks, he has continued to excel and is now one of Europe’s most highly sought-after young talents.
Jacek Kulig of Football Talent Scout compared Sudakov’s style of play to that of Christian Eriksen, the Manchester United and Denmark star, back in 2021.
Overall, Sudakov is considered a “top talent” by Fabrizio Romano and could be a great addition to Liverpool. The next few weeks will reveal what the future holds for him.
