The Patriots are in talks with Christian Parker, the Denver Broncos defensive backs coach, for the role of defensive coordinator, as reported by Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. At just 32 years old, Parker would be one of the youngest coordinators in the league, alongside the Patriots’ current 37-year-old head coach, Mayo. Parker is known as a “fast riser” and was one of the few coaches to remain on the Broncos staff when Sean Payton took over last season. He has earned high praise from the coaching staff, including defensive coordinator Vance Joseph, who described him as a “star” and a great partner to work with.
The New England coaching staff is undergoing changes as Mayo takes over as head coach from Bill Belichick. The new head coach’s promotion has left the defensive coordinator position uncertain. Additionally, it is unclear if Steve Belichick, the current defensive play caller, will remain on the staff.
