On Thursday, the Seahawks conducted a remote interview with Smith for their head coaching position, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Media. Due to restrictions, coaches employed by other teams cannot conduct in-person interviews until after the divisional round of playoffs.
In addition to the Seahawks, Smith also interviewed with the Falcons this week. He previously coached with the Chargers, Raiders, Bears, and Saints before joining the Dolphins with head coach Mike McDaniel in 2022.
The Seahawks have a lineup of interviews scheduled, including Cowboys defensive coordinator Dan Quinn on Thursday, and Giants offensive coordinator Mike Kafka and Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris on Friday.
