In the past, Arsenal struggled with retaining their top talents as they often allowed them to enter the final year of their contracts. However, the club has since made significant improvements and is now focused on swiftly and decisively retaining their key assets both on and off the pitch.
Over the past year, William Saliba, Gabriel Martinelli, and Bukayo Saka have all signed new deals with the Gunners. And according to Fabrizio Romano, discussions are “very advanced” for Ben White and Takehiro Tomiyasu to follow suit.
Romano noted that negotiations can sometimes be delayed due to various factors, but Arsenal has made it a priority to extend the contracts of their crucial players. White has been a standout performer since his move from Brighton in the summer of 2021, while Tomiyasu has been a useful member of the squad.
It’s reassuring to hear that Arsenal is on the right track with regards to White and Tomiyasu’s contracts, and hopefully, they will soon officially sign new deals.
