According to sources cited by NFL Media’s Ian Rapoport on Monday night, the New England Patriots are scheduled to conduct a zoom interview with Cincinnati Bengals quarterbacks coach Dan Pitcher on Tuesday. The Patriots reportedly interviewed former assistant Nick Caley, who served as the Los Angeles Rams tight ends coach this season, for the offensive coordinator position on Monday, and are also planning to interview Zac Robinson, a follower of Sean McVay. Pitcher is a highly sought-after candidate for the offensive coordinator role, with an in-person interview scheduled with the Las Vegas Raiders on Tuesday night and a meeting with the New Orleans Saints on Thursday. There is also a possibility that Pitcher will remain with the Bengals, as he could replace Brian Callahan, who was reportedly hired as the Tennessee Titans’ next head coach on Monday. Pitcher spent the last eight seasons as a Bengals assistant, serving as quarterbacks coach for the previous four seasons. Before joining the Bengals, he worked as a scout for the Indianapolis Colts from 2012 to 2015. Pitcher played a significant role in developing Joe Burrow, the 2020 No. 1 overall pick, into one of the league’s top quarterbacks, and the Patriots may need someone similar if they use the No. 3 overall pick to select a franchise quarterback.
