Dan Bardell, our exclusive Aston Villa columnist, has dismissed rumors that the club is interested in signing Chelsea forward Armando Broja in the January transfer window. According to The Standard, Villa is among several Premier League clubs keen on the Albanian international, but Bardell believes the club would not be willing to pay the reported £50 million fee for a reserve striker behind Ollie Watkins. Bardell stated that there is “absolutely no chance” of Villa making a move for Broja.
It is highly unlikely that Aston Villa will spend £50 million on a reserve striker, as they have only done so once in their history. The possibility of them signing Broja is even slimmer, as it is more likely for them to sign me than him. Even if Duran were to leave, it is still improbable that Villa would spend that much money on Broja. In other news, a journalist is delighted with a confirmed Villa signing.
