TuttoJuve has reported that Aston Villa and Arsenal are interested in signing Joshua Zirkzee from Bologna in the upcoming January transfer window. Juventus, Tottenham Hotspur, and Manchester United are also reportedly keen on the striker. Despite La Gazzetta dello Sport’s report that Arsenal have set aside €50 million for a summer bid, waiting until then may not be the best option given the competition for Zirkzee’s signature. While FFP issues exist, a loan deal with an obligation to make it permanent could be considered.
In the current season, Bologna’s Zirkzee has started 18 matches and appeared once as a substitute in Serie A. In those games, he has netted seven goals and provided two assists. In the previous season, the budding forward managed to score two goals and provide two assists in five starts and 14 substitute appearances in Serie A.
