Despite making 27 appearances for the Championship side during the first half of the season, Argyle boss Ian Foster was surprised to see the England youth international return to Villa Park on 19 January (via BBC Sport). Bardell has expressed doubts about whether Kesler-Hayden will be given the opportunity to impress for the Villans in the second half of the campaign, given that previous recalls from loan spells have not led to anything. Speaking exclusively to Villa News, Bardell suggested that Kesler-Hayden’s homegrown status could see him forming part of the European squad without registration.
