Mike Macdonald, the defensive coordinator for the Baltimore Ravens, has reportedly agreed to a six-year deal to become the head coach for the Seattle Seahawks. At 36 years old, Macdonald will be the youngest head coach in the NFL. He received praise for his work in returning Baltimore’s defense to elite status, ranking 8th by DVOA in 2022 and number one in 2023, with the fewest points allowed, most sacks, and most takeaways. There is optimism that Macdonald can do the same for the Seahawks, who have struggled defensively in recent years. However, before he can rebuild the defense, Macdonald must first build his coaching staff. While some coaches from Pete Carroll’s staff may be retained, it is likely that new faces will fill every position. This page will provide updates on both the Seahawks’ 2024 coaching staff and the futures of the 2023 staff.
