According to ESPN, Brad Idzik, a 32-year-old wide receivers coach for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, is set to become the new offensive coordinator for the Carolina Panthers. He will be reuniting with former Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales, who was recently named head coach of the Panthers. Idzik and Canales previously worked together with the Seattle Seahawks before joining the Buccaneers in 2023. This season, Idzik’s Buccaneers produced two 1,000-yard receivers, with Mike Evans catching 79 passes for 1,255 yards and 13 touchdowns, and Chris Godwin making 83 grabs for 1,024 yards and two scores. Idzik will be replacing Thomas Brown, who was the offensive coordinator under former head coach Frank Reich. The Panthers had a disappointing 2-15 season in 2023, ranking 31st in scoring (13.9 points per game) and 32nd in total offense (265.3 yards per game) with Bryce Young as their quarterback, who was the No. 1 overall draft pick in 2023. Idzik previously worked as an assistant wide receivers coach and offensive quality control/assistant quarterbacks coach for the Seattle Seahawks under Pete Carroll for four seasons.
