Arthur Smith has expressed confidence in his ability to improve the Pittsburgh Steelers’ struggling offense. As the team’s new offensive coordinator, Smith has already outlined his plans for the unit, which ranked among the least productive in the 2023 NFL regular season. In an interview with Steelers.com’s Missi Matthews, Smith emphasized the importance of a physical brand of football and playing to the team’s strengths while creating explosive plays. He also stressed the need for a smart offensive unit, particularly in situational football such as third-down, two-minute drills, and red zone opportunities. Before becoming the head coach of the Atlanta Falcons, Smith served as the offensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans from 2019 to 2020. While his final season with the Falcons was not particularly successful in terms of points and touchdowns per game, Smith remains optimistic about his ability to turn the Steelers’ offense around.
