Despite the Carolina Panthers not being in the Super Bowl this season, or potentially ever again, fans of the team and other irrelevant franchises still have opinions about the event. This week, we asked for your predictions and hopes for the Super Bowl, as well as when the Panthers may return.
The majority of respondents are rooting for the San Francisco 49ers to win over the Kansas City Chiefs. This may be due to the Chiefs’ recent success, which puts them in the same dynasty territory as the New England Patriots. However, it may also be because former Panthers favorites like Sam Darnold, Christian McCaffrey, and Steve Wilks are involved with the 49ers.
82% of respondents are rooting for the 49ers, while 67% predict a win for the Chiefs. Interestingly, 55% of Panthers fans expect to be disappointed by rooting for the team they don’t believe will win.
Additionally, 76% of Panthers fans don’t have short-term hope for their team to return to the Super Bowl soon. This may be due to the average duration of player and coach careers in the NFL, leading fans to believe that no one currently associated with the Panthers will be involved in their next Super Bowl run.
Being a Panthers fan requires a certain level of disregard for one’s own joy and happiness. Despite this, we’re all in this together. Stay safe.
