The New England Patriots are continuing to add coaches to their revamped staff, with a focus on those connected to Jerod Mayo. Tiquan Underwood, a former NFL wide receiver who previously played for the Patriots, is in the process of joining the team as the new assistant wide receivers coach. The hire was first reported by Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated. Underwood was a seventh-round draft pick out of Rutgers in 2009 and spent time with the Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, and Carolina Panthers during his NFL career. He retired from playing in the CFL and transitioned to coaching in 2018, starting as the wide receivers coach at Lafayette and moving on to Miami Dolphins and Rutgers before joining the University of Pittsburgh in 2022.
