Quarterback Bryce Young, who was drafted as the No. 1 overall pick by the Carolina Panthers last year, had a rough rookie season in the NFL. Despite starting in all 16 games, his passing numbers were disappointing, with less than 60% completion rate, less than 180 passing yards per game, only 11 touchdowns, and a passer rating of 73.7. He led the team to only two wins. However, Young remains confident in his abilities as a quarterback. With a new coaching staff led by former Tampa Bay Buccaneers offensive coordinator Dave Canales, Young will have a clean slate for the 2024 season. Canales played a significant role in the success of quarterbacks Baker Mayfield and Geno Smith in previous seasons. The Panthers hope he can bring the same success to Young. It remains to be seen whether the change in head coaches will make a difference for Young or if he will continue to struggle on the field in 2024.
