The future of veteran wide receiver DJ Chark lies on a lower scale. During his one season with the Panthers, Chark’s performance was not at a high level, but this was also true for the rest of the offense. However, towards the end of the season, Chark formed a connection with rookie quarterback Bryce Young. In a game on Christmas Eve, Chark caught eight passes for 98 yards and two touchdowns. In the season finale against Tampa Bay, he caught four passes for 46 yards. Chark acknowledged that his role on the team was different from what he was used to in previous years but was willing to adapt. The Panthers’ wide receiver room, aside from Chark and Adam Thielen, did not impress. Thielen has a two-year contract, while Chark is a free agent. It would be wise for the Panthers to make an effort to keep Chark.
