On Saturday, cornerback Richard Sherman was arrested in King County, Washington, on suspicion of a DUI charge, according to confirmation from the Washington State Patrol to CNN. The State Patrol stopped Sherman in Bellevue at approximately 2 a.m. local time for going 79 mph in a 60 mph zone, as stated in a first appearance document where a District Court judge found probable cause for DUI. When questioned by authorities, Sherman admitted to having two margaritas and voluntarily submitted to a test. The document also observed bloodshot, watery eyes and an odor of intoxicants.
Sherman has been taken into custody and processed at the King County Correctional Facility. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has reported that a judge from the King County District Court has found probable cause for DUI on Saturday, and a court hearing is scheduled for Monday to determine his release conditions. It is unclear whether Sherman has secured legal representation, and CNN has attempted to contact his representatives. The King County Prosecuting Attorney’s Office has not set a bail amount yet as the court has yet to address the release conditions.
