Utd’s defensive performance in holding Liverpool to a goalless draw left Ten Hag delighted.
Reportedly, the Carolina Panthers are currently working on a contract extension for star defensive lineman Derrick Brown, despite the impending free agency of Brian Burns. Brown, who was selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft, had a slow start to his career but has since established himself as one of the best interior linemen in the game.
In 2022, Brown’s impressive performance convinced the Panthers to activate the fifth-year option on his contract. He was even better in 2023, making the Pro Bowl and setting an NFL record with 103 tackles as a defensive lineman.
The Panthers are hoping to sign Brown to a long-term deal before he hits free agency, as he is a foundational building block for the team’s long-term vision. While the team has limited cap space, there is a way for them to give Brown a new deal and lower his cap hit. This is a price worth paying for one of the best interior defensive linemen in the game.
