The New England Patriots struggled with tackle play in 2023, but they made a move to address the issue by signing former Pittsburgh Steelers offensive tackle Chukwuma Okorafor. The deal was reported by Ian Rapoport of NFL Network, but the contract details have not been disclosed yet. Okorafor, a 6-foot-6, 320-pound tackle, had been with the Steelers on a three-year, $29.25 million deal before his release in February. He originally signed a four-year, $3.4 million entry level contract after being picked in the third round of the 2018 NFL Draft by the Steelers. Okorafor, originally from Nigeria, moved to the U.S. in 2010 and excelled at Southfield High School in Michigan before playing for Western Michigan University, where he earned first team All-American honors twice in 39 career games.
