Despite not being nationally ranked, Smith had offers from several other schools before choosing Alabama. The team also received crystal ball predictions for several other recruits, including top targets like edge rusher Zion Grady and quarterback Julian Lewis.

The program remains a top choice for many blue-chip recruits, and the focus continues to be on filling key positions, particularly at quarterback, wide receiver, and running back.
