Mitch Morse, a centre, was cut by the Buffalo Bills a week ago, but he was signed to a two-year contract by the Jacksonville Jaguars before he could even enter free agency, which begins next week.
Ian Rapoport and Mike Garafolo of NFL Network Insiders revealed on Monday that Morse has agreed to a $10.7 million contract with a $7 million guarantee.
The result is a reunion with head coach Doug Pederson, who signed Morse in the second round of the 2015 NFL Draft while serving as the Chiefs offensive coordinator.
During his tenure with the Bills, he qualified for the 2022 Pro Bowl.
Trevor Lawrence, the quarterback, will be shielded by his presence in the midst of the offence.
