After an incredible NFL season, Buffalo Bills linebacker Terrel Bernard is celebrating another significant life milestone: he got engaged.
On March 29, Tayler Timmons, Bernard’s longterm girlfriend, announced on Instagram that the Bills player had proposed. Many of Timmons’ teammates and their significant others congratulated him when he posed with Bernard and she flashed her engagement ring.
Following Tremaine Edmunds’ departure, Bernard became the starting middle linebacker position for the Bills, where he finished with a career-best season and established himself as one of the best in the league at his position.
According to TMZ, Timmons and Bernard have been dating for almost ten years; they first became engaged in La Porte High School and later went to Baylor University.
Timmons stated on her Instagram page that she practices physical treatment, but she also spends a lot of time supporting her new fiancé by going to Bills games. After the Bills defeated the Miami Dolphins in December 2022 to secure a postseason berth, the pair took a picture on the pitch together, and Timmons posted pictures from previous games while supporting him from the stands.
While only starting one game and recording 22 tackles in his rookie season in 2022, Bernard had a breakout year in 2023. He made 143 total stops with 6.5 sacks, three interceptions, five passes defended, and three fumble recoveries while starting all 17 games.
Before securing the starting spot before the 2023 campaign, Bernard hadn’t even appeared in a game at middle linebacker, according to Bills head coach Sean McDermott, who made this observation on February 27 on One Bills Live.
“I saw, I believe it was [Deonte] Hardy who had just scored the touchdown against the Dolphins in our division-winning game,” McDermott recalled. “To tell the defence, ‘Hey, this is a key series right here,’ I walk down the sideline. TB was already down there, so I didn’t have to do that. It was evident from their gazes that they respected him and everything he stood for. His teammates had an air of “Hey, we’re with you, we’ve got you.” And it, in my opinion, speaks volumes about a certain young athlete.
