The Buffalo Bills’ roster of players is returning to One Bills Drive this week to start their voluntary offseason conditioning program. Similar to other NFL teams, the Bills’ roster experiences changes every year, and the 2024 roster saw significant turnover during the Beane-McDermott era. Below, we highlight some of these changes and what to anticipate as the team prepares for the 2024 season.
Several players, including starting defensive tackle Da’Quan Jones, were hoped to return to the team. Fortunately, the Bills were able to sign Jones to a new two-year contract, ensuring he remains with the team through the 2025 season. Defensive end AJ Epenesa also agreed to a two-year deal, strengthening the defensive front.
In addition, the Bills re-signed Taylor Rapp and Cam Lewis to provide continuity in the safety position following the departure of long-time starters Micah Hyde and Jordan Poyer. Offensively, David Edwards is expected to start at left guard, with Connor McGovern shifting to center. Running back Ty Johnson, who served as James Cook’s primary backup last season, was also brought back into the team. Restricted free agent tight end Quintin Morris agreed to a new contract with Buffalo, further solidifying the team’s lineup.
