DJ Chark Jr., a former wide receiver with the Carolina Panthers, is leaving Charlotte after just one season and moving to Los Angeles.
According to NFL source Ian Rapoport’s report on Thursday night, Chark inked a $5 million one-year contract with the Los Angeles Chargers.
Chark is ending what turned out to be an incredibly terrible 2023 season by moving to Los Angeles.
In 2023, Chark signed a contract for the Panthers for the first time. He didn’t quite live up to Carolina’s one-year, $5 million prove-it offer.
Chark has 35 receptions for 525 yards and five touchdowns at the end of the 2023 season. While it was an improvement over his 2022 output with the Detroit Lions, it was still a far cry from his 1,000-yard receiving campaign with the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2019.
After signing with the Chargers earlier this offseason, Chark now joins centre Bradley Bozeman and tight end Hayden Hurst, all of whom were once teammates of the Panthers.
