On Tuesday’s episode of The Season with Peter Schrager, Dave Canales, the head coach of the New Carolina Panthers, was the special guest. Naturally, host Peter Schrager questioned Canales about his early collaborations with team owners David and Nicole Tepper.
“It’s been amazing,” he answered. “I see a pair that has a strong sense of loyalty to their team. Nicole occasionally likes Panthers football even more than David does. And the community as a whole—she is so eager to help and ask, “Who can we bless?” With whom may we share this…? “I just want to come out to practise and enjoy the energy of what I’m seeing,” is how she puts it.
Nicole appears to share the sentiment as she has previously praised Canales for his Energy and attention to details.
What about David, too?
And to be able to hang out with David, pick his brain, and sort of rely on his accomplishments. In terms of leadership and all those other things, he is incredibly successful. I can sit with him for a while and watch as he bravely brings us together. Let’s assess free agency now. Let’s assess the draught procedure. Guys, how did that go? What was the experience like? What was successful? What went wrong? Why not?
Furthermore, there is no guilt or anything like that. It’s as simple as can we tell the truth? Can we approach situations with an open mind and boldly declare, “Okay, this didn’t work. Let’s fix it and move forward?”
Dave is David’s third head-coaching choice over the last five years.
