According to an NFL insider, Bryce Young will improve in 2024 because he won’t have as many people speaking in his ear.
The Carolina Panthers had put together a “all-star” coaching staff for Young’s rookie season, so Frank Reich and a few other assistant coaches had to give Young instructions. Under Dave Canales, that isn’t the case, and according to NFL Network’s Cam Wolfe, that is all Young needs to do in order to find his quarterbacking identity again.
“Now, everything is so much clearer,” stated Wolfe. “There’s been a lot of positive reviews about how Bryce is getting one voice – not as many cooks in the kitchen.”
Moving forward, Young’s leadership will be prominent, as Canales recently acknowledged that the young quarterback leads primarily by setting an example rather than being vocal. Canales mentioned that Young is not satisfied with his previous performance and recognizes the importance of working hard and performing at a high standard. While he is not inclined to take on a vocal leadership role, Young effectively communicates key messages to his team by highlighting positive moments and addressing areas needing improvement. This approach, combined with a consistent demeanor, will help Young establish himself as a successful NFL quarterback. Despite his relatively modest rookie season statistics, having a dependable leader like Young is crucial for his development in the league.
