Even though Josh Allen is among the NFL’s top quarterbacks, he still gets the worst treatment possible.
Allen has received a lot of the blame for the Bills’ postseason problems and failure to reach the greatest football stage. And he’s called inconsistent as a result.
Monday’s announcement of ESPN’s “Execs, coaches, scouts rank NFL’s top 10 QBs for 2024” was another act of disrespect.
Although it’s hardly shocking that quarterback Patrick Mahomes of the Kansas City Chiefs finished first, Allen ought to have been in second place.
However, Joe Burrow, the quarterback for the Cincinnati Bengals, received it instead. Burrow had a right wrist injury in Week 11 and missed the whole 2023 season.
Despite being the only other quarterback to be ranked higher than Mahomes, Allen came in at No. 3.
Allen even declared that if the Bills won the Super Bowl, he would retire tomorrow. Though Bills Mafia would much rather have Allen leading the way than any other quarterback, that is something that every Buffalo fan wants to hear.
However, the disdain will never stop.
A seasoned NFL official also told ESPN that the guy was “one of the more overrated players in the NFL.” “Extremely talented, but prone to error. He struggles to win at the line of scrimmage, locks on to players, is more of a thrower than a deft passer, and frequently forces throws into traffic.”
Allen only needs to disprove everyone at this point.
