Mike Matheson, a defenseman, struck the goalpost with considerable force after colliding with goaltender Cayden Primeau.
It wasn’t nice to witness, and it could have gone south, but thankfully it appears to be nothing more than a scary scenario with no repercussions.

“Thankfully, Mike Matheson appeared fine following his collision with the net during the Habs practice. The finest part, though, is when Cole Caufield hits the net in an attempt to replicate Papa Bear, a parent beating an inanimate item after their toddler runs into it.”
The video makes it quite evident that many of us held our breath in the hopes that Matheson would stand up soon.
You can only imagine how big of a stir this incident made given all the serious ailments that the Montreal Canadiens’ top players have been dealing with lately. To reiterate, however, Matheson appeared to be fine following this unfortunate incident (as did Cayden Primeau).
