At the start of the month, Mailloux faced these setbacks: first, his reassignment to the American Hockey League, and second, he lost his place on the Rocket’s top power play unit. He may have anticipated continuing on that unit in Laval, but Adam Engstrom was awarded the position instead.
Despite these challenges, Mailloux responded admirably, achieving a standout game with four points and subsequently reclaiming his spot on the power play. As noted by Charles-Alexis Brisebois on BPM Sports, he is back in the lineup, although he understands that his position is not secured.
