LeBron James’ aspiration to participate in every game of the regular season is strongly supported by head coach JJ Redick. The NBA superstar, who has long maintained a presence on the court, aims to overcome past difficulties as he showcases impressive skills in his 22nd season.
As the oldest player in the league, James will turn 40 this December, and he is determined to play in all 82 games for the Lakers. Despite doubts surrounding this goal—given he only played 71 games last season due to injuries and other factors—Redick remains open to accommodating James’ wishes while managing his playing time.
“Most players enter a season wanting to play all 82 games. If that’s his goal, fantastic. I would love to have him for the entire season. We’ll adjust his minutes accordingly,” Redick explained.
The last time LeBron played all 82 games was during the 2017-18 season with the Cleveland Cavaliers, and last season marked the most games he has played since joining the Lakers. While challenges exist, his goal seems attainable as long as he maintains his health and continues to perform well. At his age, James still plays a vital role for the Lakers, and achieving his goal of playing every game could greatly benefit the team’s success.
