On Monday, the Buffalo Bills were granted a one-week roster exemption for EDGE Von Miller, who is expected to return from his suspension, according to Mike Garafolo. The Bills have until next Monday to add Miller to their active roster after he completed a four-game suspension for breaking the league’s personal conduct policy.
Miller, 35, was a first-round selection by the Broncos in 2011. After his rookie contract, Denver exercised his fifth-year option and later franchise-tagged him. In 2016, the Broncos extended Miller’s contract for six years at $114 million, with $70 million guaranteed. In 2020, he earned $18 million, of which $6 million was fully guaranteed, contributing to a cap hit of $25.625 million.
The Broncos activated Miller’s option last year and again in 2021 at a cost of $18 million. However, Denver traded him to the Rams at the trade deadline for second and third-round draft picks, while covering most of his remaining salary. Miller subsequently won the Super Bowl in his first season with the Rams.
In 2022, he signed a six-year, $120 million contract with the Buffalo Bills as a free agent. So far in 2024, Miller has played in four games for the Bills, recording five tackles and three sacks.
