Montreal Canadiens goaltender Samuel Montembeault is truly remarkable. After a challenging game in which he was pulled by coach Martin St-Louis following five goals on ten shots, Montembeault surprised reporters with his openness.
He was the first to arrive at his locker, ready to answer questions instead of hiding away, which many athletes might have understandably done. This speaks volumes about his character!
“The Canadiens’ locker room doors opened, and Samuel Montembeault was standing by his locker, ready to speak. He faced a rough night and took responsibility for it. A true character,” noted Eric Engels. The Quebec goaltender handled the situation like a professional, earning respect.
He’s bound to learn from this experience, and I believe he’ll return even stronger in the next game if St-Louis gives him the chance.
More updates to come.
The Montreal Canadiens are set to play in Washington this Thursday against the formidable Alex Ovechkin.
