We have some changes to share regarding the Montreal Canadiens, particularly about forward Alex Newhook.
Yesterday, we reported that Martin St-Louis made important adjustments to his lineup, reshuffling his lines significantly. Emil Heineman was promoted to the first line alongside Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki, while young Oliver Kapanen was assigned to the second line with Kirby Dach and Juraj Slafkovsky.
Unfortunately, Alex Newhook was the one left out, getting pushed down to the fourth line. We were curious to see if these alterations would carry over into today’s game, and it turns out they did, with one exception.
Martin St-Louis reversed his decision on Alex Newhook. All the previous changes remain intact for the upcoming game against the Washington Capitals, except for one swap: Newhook is now back on the second line, taking Kapanen’s place on the fourth line.
Here are the four key updates:
– Emil Heineman stays on the first line and will make his debut with Nick Suzuki and Cole Caufield.
– Alex Newhook returns to the second line and is expected to center Kirby Dach.
– Arber Xhekaj will sit out as Justin Barron and Kaiden Guhle rejoin the lineup.
