Tre’vonn Rybka, a senior defensive lineman for Kentucky, will be honoured at the annual ‘Big in the Bluegrass’ fundraising event on Saturday, Nov. 9 at Kroger Field after being selected the Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Bluegrass Ambassador of the Year.
The Big Brothers Big Sisters organisation has been working for almost a century with the conviction that every child has the capacity to develop and succeed in life. Big Brothers Big Sisters is the largest mentoring network in the country, supported by volunteers and donations. It pairs meaningful, supervised adult volunteers (called “Bigs”) with youngsters (called “Littles”), aged 6 to 18, in communities all throughout the nation. Young people’s lives are directly and permanently impacted by the positive interactions they build.
of Dickson, Tennessee, worked as a BBBSBG intern in 2024, assisting in the planning of multiple activities for the kids in central Kentucky, such as the Bowl for Kids’ Sake, which is the organization’s biggest fundraiser among its peers. Additionally, he was involved in the creation of the Big Star Bowl, an occasion where the whole UK football team interacted with children on the waiting list for BBBSBG.
BBBSBG interim president and CEO Meredith Watts stated, “Tre’vonn has a passion for kids and helping others.” He has been bursting with brilliant concepts and methods to spread the word about our program. In addition to utilising his platform to get others to sign up to be big brothers and big sisters, he has urged his colleagues to volunteer. Tre’vonn has had a tremendous impact on our program.

Rybka has played in 45 games throughout his career, including 22 starts. In his five seasons as a Wildcat, he has amassed 85 tackles, 10.0 tackles for loss, four sacks, six quarterback pressures, and a pass breakup. He has two quarterback hurries, 3.5 TFL, 2.0 sacks, and 24 tackles while starting all nine games this season.
In the classroom, Rybka is on course to get a degree in community leadership and development in December of 2024.
Junior defensive lineman Deone Walker was the first Wildcat to receive this honour in 2023, and Rybka is the second consecutive Wildcat to do so.
