The Kentucky Wildcats men’s basketball program announced on Thursday that they have officially signed guards Acaden Lewis and Jasper Johnson for the class of 2025.
Acaden Lewis, a left-handed point guard standing at 6 feet 2 inches, hails from Sidwell Friends School in Washington, D.C. He is a highly regarded top-50 prospect, with Rivals ranking him as high as 20th overall.
According to Kentucky head coach Mark Pope, “Acaden Lewis embodies the qualities of an excellent point guard. He possesses remarkable vision, has a smooth shooting technique, and can finish at the rim. He is capable of making every type of pass and has a solid grasp of the point guard role. His calm and determined demeanor makes him an ideal leader. His attributes remind me of Anthony Epps, who was a strong, composed leader we’re thrilled to have on our team.
“Acaden is one of the most sought-after players in this class, and many players have expressed their desire to join him. I’m particularly proud of how he worked his way up from being a lesser-known recruit to becoming a highly coveted player this summer.”
Jasper Johnson, a 6-foot-4 combo guard from Lexington, currently plays for Overtime Elite in Atlanta, Georgia. He is widely recognized as a top-30 recruit, ranking as high as 13th overall by ESPN and 247 Sports.
Pope praised Johnson, stating, “Jasper Johnson is the most lethal scorer in high school basketball. His style and charisma will certainly appeal to all of Big Blue Nation. He plays with a fearless attitude and draws significant defensive attention when he’s shooting from 27 feet. His family has a strong legacy at Kentucky, and he may just create an even more remarkable legacy.”
With these additions, Kentucky has now secured three commitments during the early signing period, following center Malachi Moreno’s signing on Wednesday.
