Due to unexpected losses by Georgia and Miami, Notre Dame has climbed to eighth in the CFP rankings and is currently a nine-seed in the bracket. With only three seemingly winnable games left, fans of Notre Dame can envision a path to the playoffs.
During the Wednesday morning Always Irish radio show, fans expressed that they believe the committee is assessing Notre Dame fairly at this stage.
Interestingly, the more compelling topic of discussion involves what may happen to power conference teams facing difficult upcoming matches. Notre Dame supporters recognize the risk involved; the anticipation of facing Virginia isn’t nearly as thrilling as dreaming about a potential home playoff game at Notre Dame Stadium and considering the best matchups for the team.
As a content creator and a fan, I understand the precarious position we’re in. All the excitement surrounding the CFP could vanish if the Irish stumble in any of their last three games.
I hope the team remains focused on the task at hand and doesn’t get distracted by possibilities.
